He explained this resolution was directed to him from the Law
Director as a test case and it was inadvertently placed in the packets.
He said he would like Councils backing on this.
Council President Spellman stated this Resolution will be changed to be
Introduced by the Mayor and Council as a Whole.
Council President Spellma.n,° seconded by Mr.-Carmen, made a motion to adopt
Resolution 82-34.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
Ordinance 82-35, entitled; "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF ONE DUMP TRUCK." Introduced by Council as a Whole.
Discussion was held regarding the amount in the ordinance. .
Mr. Amendola stated the cost of the cab and chassis of a dump truck with a
diesel engine is $12,179.00. The dump body is $2,112.00, therefore the
total amount should be $14,291.00e '
Mr. Feneli asked Mr. Amendola to clarify why he feels this is the best bid
Mr. Amendola explained that although this bid was not the lowest bid received,
it is in his opinion, the best bid. The quality of this equipment is better
because factory made dump bodies do not hold up. This is a specific body
made by a body company.
Mr. Carmen, seconded by Council President Spellman, made a motion to amend
the ordinance - changing the amount to $14,291.00 and to declare the
Claridon Center Garage as the'best (not lowest and best) bidder.
