? Lr eJ <br />Ordinanceā¢82-38, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT TO.PUCEL <br />ENTERPRISES, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF TEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED TEN DOLLARS <br />AND SEVENTY FIVE CENTS ($10,110.75) AS LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR THE <br />RESTRIPING OF DESIGNATED STREETS IN THE MUNICIPALITY, REJECTING ALL OTHER <br />BIDS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by the Mayor and Council <br />as a Whole. <br />Council President Spellmari, seconded by Mr. Etzler, made a motion to <br />suspend the rules of Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three <br />separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Council President Sp.ellma.n, seconded by Mr. Carmen, made a motion to pass <br />Ordinance 82-38. <br />Council President Spellman asked if there were any comments for discussion. <br />Mayor Beebe asked where the time limit is indicated in the ordinance. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said it is included in the bid specifications. Once they <br />sign the contract, the work must commence in five days and be completed <br />within 45 days. <br />Mrs. Hanus questioned why we were 'receiving a"bargain" as this bid was <br />so much less than the others received. <br />Mr. Hovancsek explained this company did the work last year. Therefore. <br />they are familiar with our markin.g system and Village streets, allowing <br />them to decrease the cost. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />CLOSING COMMENTS FROM THE ATJDIENCE <br />Mr. George Goley, 865 Lande'r'R6ad - said regarding the employee insurance <br />benef its package, he feels if the current underwriter is unwilling to <br />present all options available to Council, another insuror should be <br />considered. <br />Mr. Goley stated, "I would like to make a comment with regard to the <br />circus that was performed earlier. Mr. Spellman - I think you are 100% <br />correct. When a President of Council thinks that his knowledge of the <br />law supercedes the knowledge of the Law Director, the people of the <br />Village are going.to speak out and they are going to use the electoral <br />process that is available to them. Thank you."
