<br />Mr. Carmen said he feels that Mr. Chapman should propose what is best for <br />the Village and then we could make the f inal decision. <br />Mr. Chapman said the issue is the reaction of the employees to either paying <br />for something they have not been asked to pay for in the past, or their <br />willingness to accept a decreased package. <br />Mr. Feneli asked Mr. Chapman if he represented other municipalities and if <br />he would have access to information so he could determine the trend of how <br />the other municipalities are going to compensate for the increase. <br />Mr. Chapman said he does not represent other municipalities but would have <br />access to the necessary information. <br />Mr. Chapma.n will attend the June 7th Council Meeting to present the results <br />of his research. <br />Mrs. Simek, Upper Forty'D'rive - asked what is happening about the park road <br />that was blocked because of a storm. This necessitates her to travel <br />approximately three miles out of her way to reach the same destination. She <br />said she understands the Village is still in litigation regarding this. <br />Mayor Beebe said the matter was never in litigation. He said several <br />preliminary meetings were held with Walter Kelly of the Park Board but a <br />determination has not yet been made as to where the fault lies. He said <br />it is up to the Park Board to come back to us with a report and another <br />meeting will be held. <br />Mr. Hovancsek explained how the damage to the road was done by the storm. <br />He concurred that this type of issue raises certain legal questions that <br />must be answered to determine who is liable before ligigation can be started. <br />Mrs. Simek gave Mr. Hovancsek an article from the Sunday newspaper that reports <br />plans to make the road into a trail. She suggested everyone read the article. <br />Council President Spellman said perhaps this matter would.be discussed at the <br />next Caucus Meeting. <br />Council President Spellman announced that this meeting is being taped.
