?. -? . <br />Mrs. Rita Mikula (Coordinator.of the.Senior Citizen Commission on Aging) <br />stated people are definitely interested and they are looking forward to <br />different activities which wi11 be held afternooris and evenings. <br />Mrs. Bloom asked how many of those attending the Commission on Aging Meeting <br />were residents. <br />Mrs. Mikula said she has not gone over the list to pick them out. She said <br />the non-residents will not be participating in.any of.the functions involving <br />the money appropriated. <br />Mrs. Bloom said, according to her information, the attendance at the meeting <br />was approximately 50% residents of Mayfield Village. <br />Mrs. Mikula commented she felt it would be more than that. <br />Mrs. Bloom asked Mrs. Mi.kula, if she determined through her feasibility study <br />the number of people necessary to make the project viable to be funded by the <br />Village. <br />Mrs. Mikula said that would be up to Council. <br />Mr. Carmen commented attendance at various functions is sometimes higher when <br />the project first begins, then tapers off. He feels a better picture of the <br />number of people attending functions would be known after the 5th meeting or <br />so. He asked what the $4,000.00 to be appropriated would be used for, stating <br />that is alot of money. . <br />Mrs. Mikula said some of the motley would go towards the Health Maintenance <br />Clinic. She explained what services the Clinic would perform. She estimated <br />the cost to have two nurses once a month for three hours would be about <br />$1,500.00 a year, mentioning Mayfield Heights has this type of clinic. <br />Discussion was held regarding the funds the Mayfield Heights and Highland <br />Heights Senior Citizens Commissions are allocated. <br />Mrs. Bloom said, according to the information she received from Mayfield Hts. <br />and Highland Hts., $4,000.001s alot of!money to be allocated to the Senior <br />Citizen Commission.on Aging for a six month period to initially start a <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Etzler suggested an interim amount of money be allocated to the Commission <br />until Council has more details as to what the Commission plans to spend the <br />funds for. . <br />Mr. Jerry Strater (of the audience; a member of the Commission on Aging) said <br />the Commission was formed.by Council. The Commission needs money to work with. <br />Mr. Busa reminded Council the money is being appropriated but that does not <br />mean it will all be spent.
