<br />Discussion was held regarding the possibility of determining the ordinances <br />that must be voted on by the public in time for the election. <br />Mr. Feneli said the questions ta appear on the ballot must be f iled 75 days <br />before the election which would be August 18. <br />Council decided there would not be enough time before the election to make <br />an accurate determination.of ordinances to be recodif ied that must be voted <br />on. <br />Rubbish Collection <br />Mayor Beebe said the bids were.received for rubbish collection. Mr. Shiffer <br />of Village Disposal has agreed to continue his contract through July. <br />Discussion was held. <br />Mr. Carmen suggested Mayor Beebe contact the references submitted by the <br />bidders. He should prepare a list of questions and ask them all the same <br />questions. <br />Mr. Busa suggested Chief Stevens contact the Police Chiefs of the communities <br />the other companies service for their opinion. <br />Mayor Beebe will contact the references and report the results to Council. <br />Mr. Etzler stated they are not sure if Dan & Dons Disposal is union or non-union. <br />He stated everyone says our rubbish collection is.excellent which he feels is <br />important, and while Village Disposal is not the lowest bidder he is below the <br />average center of the bids received. <br />Ordinance 82-51, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. 82-5 AND 82-17, <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT.HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." <br />Introduced by Mayor and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mrs. Bloom, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mrs. Bloom, made a motion to pass Ordinance 82-51. <br />Council President Spellman asked if there were any comments for discussion. <br />Council President Spellman stated that when a new person starts they would start <br />at the probationary rate, and questioned if the Mayor'and Council felt they <br />should receive the new higher rate at the end of their probationary period.
