MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL Village of Mayfield July 19, 1982 The Council of the Village of, Mayfield met in Regular Session on Monday, July 19, 1982 at 8:10 p.m. at the Village Hall. Council President, Michael W. Spellman, presided. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.. Roll Call: Present: Messrs., Busa,-Carmen, Etzler, Flynn, Spellman, and Mrs. Bloom Absent : Mrs. Hanus Also Present tidere . Mayor Beebe, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Feneli, Mr. Hovancsek, Chief Hejcl, Chief Stevens, Mrs. Maynard, Mrs. Ruggles, and Mr. Toth OPEN PORTION There were no comments. MAYOR'S COMMENTS Mayor Beebe asked Por Councils indulgence in a brief Executive Session to go over personnel problems to follow this meeting. COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS Council President Spellman asked.that Council consider the lengthy agenda and try to refrain from excessive discussion. He verif ied there will be an Executive Session following the meeting. He stated he would like Department Heads to note discussion on the 1983 salary ordinance will begin October lst. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS Safety & Service - Mrs. Bloom said Safety and S.ervice met on July 6th. The topic of discussion was road repairs. She reported the Committee suggests roads be patched this year and major work be postponed until next year. Mr. Amendola and Mr. Hovancsek advised them prices are low now so Kenwood should still be resurfaced this year, and they are-considering putting in curb.drains. Finance - Mr. Etzler said the Finance Committee met on June 28 and July 12. He reported they discussed the 1983 budget. The Committee recommends.that . Council establish a Reward Fund for the Police Department. Money is available for the repair work on Kenwood. They feel the work cannot waiL and if postponed would be a major.job next year. Also discussed was self- insurance. The Administrator they contacted feels Lhat we may not get ihe overhead with.33 employees to make this worthwhile.
