Goffey from Viacom to
address Council.
Mrs. Marie Coffey said there wa's some confusion as.far as inspections were
concerned. They were unable to complete them as quickly as they had hoped. "
because many people were not home. Within the past week they made appointments
with people for evening inspections. About 500 inspections have been taken care
of so far and they have about another 100 yet to makee They have completed mos_t
underground work.excluding certain apartment buildings. About 60.underground
installations have to be made to homes. She has discussed this with Mr..Amendola
and he recommends that they be permitted to resume.cable installations to the
homes. Viacom requests permission be granted to them to do so. Mrs. Coffey said
their Plant Manager, Mr. Gary Bernhardt, is present and will answer any questions.
Mr. Busa questioned when his home would be taken care of.
Mrs. Coffey said someone is scheduled to come to his home tomorrow.
Mr. Etzler questioned if every installation is being checked.
Mrs. Coffey said yes, up until now, after this point it will not be necessary.
Mrse Bloom asked if.there is.now a problem with the wiring of Preview with
the addition of the cable.
Mr. Bernhardt explained there is no wiring problem.
Discussion was held regarding how the cable is tied_in to the homes.
Mr. Feneli said a motion from Council is necessary to allow Viacom to resume
installations since he wrote a letter to Viacom requiring them to cease and
desist all installations until the corrections had been ma.de. He said Viacom'
must understand that the Village is not waiving any of their rights regarding
bad installations that still may occur by allowing them to proceed. Any
problems that might arise will be pursued by the Village on behalf of their
residents.
Mrs. Coffey said Viacom understands that.
Mr. Busa said as long as no other complaints are received before November 15
he feels Viacom should resume installation. If complaints are received he
will ask Council to again issue.the cease and desis.t directive and_the remaining
installations would probably have to wait until Spring.
Mrs. Coffey asked that Viacom be advised of any complaints the Village may
receive.
