Mrs. Hanus questioned if this would.be similar to the procedure of the Recreation
Committee, except that the Commission on Aging will have their own bank account.
Mr. Toth said it would be similar.
Mr. Busa feels this procedure would. isolate the Commission on Aging from Council.
He does not think a Commission member would want to. take on this responsibility.
Mr. Feneli said mos.t Commission on Aging groups operate in this fashion.. He
feels they would be ha.ppy to be given the opportunity to operate on their_own.
Mr. Busa questioned the necessity of a detailed report of the commission's
expenditures to be submitted to the Finance Department.
Mr. Toth explained it is required by the State Auditor's Office as explained
by Ruth Ruggles in the last page of the memo to Council.
Mz. Toth said he requested Ordinance 82-85 establishing a Petty Cash Fund for
the Village for auditing purposes. The Police, Fire and Building Departments
will each have a Petty C.ash Fund. This will enabTe the.Village to account for
their petty cash at all times.
He also recommends the.purchase of the used tables_and chairs for the Community
Room that Mrs. Martin advised are avaiiable. ,
Mrs. Martin said Mr. Amendola recommended the purchase of 25 to 30 tables and
100 to 150.chairs if they are available. They anticipate the cost to be around
$15.00 per table and $4.00 per chair. Mrs. Martin has not been able to contact
the party to see whether or.not they are still available. There is not enough
money from the sale of the sink and the pumpkin sale to completely cover this
purchase.
Mr. Toth explained we are well above the anticipated donations this year of
$10,000.00. There would.be money available other than the money earned.from
the pumpkin sale for this purchase..:. He said this must be agreed upon by Council.
Mrs. Hanus reminded everyone that money will be der.ived from the Turkey Raffle
and Christmas Tree Sale later this year.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Hanus, made a motion_to approve the purchase of used
tables and chairs for the Community Room, not to exceed $1,000.00.
Roll Call: AYES: Al1
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Purchase Approved
Mr. Toth was excused at this time (9:08 p.m.).
