<br />COUNCIL PRESIDENT' S CONIMENTS <br />Council President Spellman had no comment. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Safety/Service Committee - Mrs. Bloom said Safety and Service met October 5. <br />They determined, after reviewing Ordinance 82-77, that snow plow permits <br />will be secured from the:Building Department. Each truck must have a permit <br />stickerm They do not have to supply the Village with addresses of their <br />clients. The cost per contractor is $10.00 for ths f irst sticker, $5.00 for_ <br />the second and third stickers, $4.00 for the fourth and fifth stickers and <br />$3.00 each for additional stickers. They decided.the two sn.ow ordinances <br />should be separate. They determined that part "c" in Ordinance 82-79 should <br />be deleted. The committee recommends approval of the radios for the Service <br />Department. Mr. Amendola questioned the dollars appropriated for salt for . <br />this year and next year. Mr. Amendola requested money for trees to replace <br />the dead treeso He also requested $3,500.00 for capital improVement. Mr. <br />Etzler completed the list of equipment to be loaned under the Equipment Loan <br />Program to begin next year; copies will be given to Council. The Safety and <br />Service Committee recommends passage of Ordinance 82-77 and 82-79.after their. <br />suggested amendments are made. Finance - Mr. Etzler said the Finance Comznittee met three times since the last <br /> <br />Council Meeting. On September 28 they met with the representatives of the <br />departments to discuss the 1983 wage ordinance.. The consensus of opinion was <br />to keep the hospitalization insurance coverage as it is.and to b.e.given a <br />percentage raise. On October 4 the committee discus:sed the expenditures in <br />the Village. Chief Stevens asked the Committee to consider the purchase of <br />two new cars for 1983. He also requested additions to the radio console of <br />24 hour logging tape, a video tape recorder and television/monitors, at a <br />cost of approxi:mately $13,000.00. Mr. Toth asked all Department Heads to make <br />a list of items they feel are necessary for next year that will be listed under <br />Capital Expenditures. Mr. Etzler reported at this evenings meeting.the <br />committee determined the radios for the Service Department that were unappr.opriated <br />for this year.be purchased next year. They recommend Council take action tonight <br />on the contract for fire hydrant repairs. They requested that Council discuss <br />the contract for traffic signal maintenance with Chief Stevens at the next Caucus. <br />They recommend the purchase of tables and chairs for the Community Room with <br />available monies from recent sales. <br />Mr. Toth stated two memos were sent out from the Finance Departmentm One was <br />to clear up any confusing matters regarding the Community Room. If anyone has <br />any questions they should contact the Finance Department. The other memo was <br />regarding the.Commission on Agingm The Bureau of Inspection has informed the <br />Village of certain procedures that must be followed. He feels the procedures <br />are not as complicated as they seem and he would like to discuss them with the <br />Commission on Aging. He feels in the long run it will be easier for them to <br />handle their own records. <br />
