Mr. Etzler commented that Mr. Paris had said that he would not appear before
the Planning and Zoning Commission. He thought Council referred the matter
to Planning and Zoning for their input which he thought they would, in turn,
report to Council.
Mr. Carmen explained the Planning and Zoning Commission did not feel the
problem was with Mr. Paris' actual variance request but they were concerned
about futur.e requests. Many years ago when Mr. Paris received his current
variance he assured Council and Planning and Zoning that he would not put a
medical facility in that building, which he is now requesting. Mr. Carmen
said after a solution to that problem is worked out they will know better
how to handle Mr. Paris' request.
Mrs. Martin said a purchase requisition for tree trimming in the Aintree area
was discussed with Mr. Toth and asked if he wanted Councils approval of it.
Mr. Toth explained the amount.was under the present bid limitation and he
felt it was somewhat of an emergency nature and told Mrs. Martin to go ahead
with it. He explained the problems requiring the tree trimming.
Mrs. Martin added that residents have complained.about the.trees and problems
would occur with the.trees hitting the snow removal vehicles etc. She said
the three streets involved are Aintree Park Drive, Derby Drive, and Chase Drive.
She received a quote of $1,600,00 for two of the streets and she expected the a
total for the three streets not to exceed $2,400.00e
There were no comments from Council.
Mr. Feneli said the Seminar of the Annual Conference of the National Institute
of Municipal Off icers was very informative. He said he will be reducing some
of the information to memo form but if anyone wants to review the material they
are welcome to do so.
Mrs. Hanus reminded everyone of the.Turkey Raffle.
Mr. Busa said he had promised to report the progress of Viacom repairs, and
he is proud to report the repairs to his home have been completed to his
satisfaction.
Mr. Carmen said Mrs. Coffey of Viacom told him all repairs have been completed
to the satisfaction of the residents.
Mr. Busa said in reference to the attendance of Department Heads at Council
Meetings, he referred to Ordinance 75-32, paragraph H- Attendance at Council
Meetings; "In addition to the Mayor and Council, the following officers or
their authorized.representatives shall attend all regular Council.Meetings,
unless excused by the President of Council, and such special Council Meetings,
committee, board or commission meetings as the Presiding Officer of the.
commission, board or committee shall request." He said that means the Police
Chief, the Fire Chief, Service off icials, the Engineer and the Law Director
are required to attend meetings unless the President of Council excuses them.
