J <br />Chief Stevens.feels a three year lease would be most favorable, financially. <br />A resident in the audience asked if the bids were sent to other companies <br />besides Motorola. . <br />Chief Stevens said he personally sent bids to the three largest manufacturers <br />of radio equipment. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Council not to make a decision until Mr. Toth has researched the options <br />available. <br />Ordinance 82-88, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A TOOL AND EQUIPMENT <br />LENDING PROGRAM IN MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, AND REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES <br />INCONSISTENT THEREWITH." Introduced by the Mayor and.Council as a Whole. <br />Council Presiden.t Spellman said this ordinance was a recommeridation by the <br />Safety & Service Committee and is on third reading this evening. <br />Mr. Amendola said a similar program is very effective in Bedford Heights. <br />Mr. Carmen asked if the items to be purchased would also be useful to the <br />Village. <br />The Village could also use these items. <br />Mrs. Hanus asked if the Village would be liable if someone borrowing the <br />equipment injured themself. <br />Mr. Feneli explained the person borrowing the equipment would f irst have to <br />sign a release form declaring the Village harmless in the event of injury. <br />Mr. Feneli suggested the Village notify their insurance company as this <br />ordinance might create a need to modify the current liability coverage. <br />Discussion was held on the list of tools to be purchased to be lended. <br />Mr. Feneli explained the ordinance does not establish the procedure for <br />purchasing the tools, the list can vary. It is to be decided by Council <br />what funds are available for the tool lending program. <br />Mr. Busa commented he does not think the average person will borrow these . <br />tools. <br />Mrs. Bloom said she mentioned this subject at the Homeowners Association <br />Meeting and everyone present thought it was a good ideae They would <br />appreciate being able to borrow these things close to home..
