RM <br />Mayor Carmen said when the job of Coordinator began, that person only handled <br />Commission on Aging matters.. The original task has grown so much that he <br />feels the position should be compensated. The coordinator handles the flu <br />shot program, the surplus food program, and work on grant programs as well. <br />He said the present coordinator has worked long and hard without compensation. <br />Mr. Howard Schulz, 450 SOM Center Road, Acting Chairman of the Commission on Aging- <br />said he wanted to thank this administration and the past administration and our <br />liaison personnel for the fine cooperation extended to the commission. He is <br />aware of the amount of hours Mrs. Mikula expended and knows that is.has developed <br />into a sizeable project. He was also upset over the article, which he does not <br />feel is justified. <br />Mr. Howard Schulz - said he has requested for three administrations that something <br />be done about the.flooding at the end of his driveway. The sewer line has been <br />ruptured where the water line was extended. He asked whose responsibility it was <br />to open the catch basins on SOM Center Road. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said the Highway Departinent has been assisting with maintenance, <br />but they have not been doing work on catch basins for years. Several years ago <br />the Service Department opened the inlets on SOM Center Road. He does not know <br />when that was last done. <br />Mr. Etzler asked if it was the Village's responsibility to do this. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said it is Village responsibility. <br />Mayor Carmen said he will advise the Service Department to take care of the <br />problem. Mr. Howard Schulz - said he feels meter readers should have marked cars. He <br />asked if the Village could do something or if he should discuss the matter <br />directly with the companies. <br />Mr. Etzler suggested Mr. Schulz contact the companies directly to convey his <br />problem. <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br />Regular Meeting of Council - 10/21/85 - Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mrs. Mills, <br />made a motion to approve the minutes. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None . Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />COMMENTS FROM MAYOR CARMEN <br />Mayor Carmen introduced Thomas Forte and Michael Girbino, two new part-time <br />firefighters. He administered the oath of office to both men. <br />Mayor Carmen read a proclamation designating December 1-17 as "Autism <br />Awareness Week."
