50 <br />MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br />Mayor Carmen welcomed former Mayor Robert Beebe and his wife Maxie who <br />were in the audience. <br />He reported the results from the Mother's Day Pan,cake Breakfast held last <br />Sunday. There were 450 people served and a net profit of $735.00 was made. <br />He extended a special thank you to all those who helped. <br />Mayor Carmen reported the bid for the Beech Hill paving was awarded to the <br />Cleveland Trinidad Paving Company. <br />COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS <br />Mr. Etzler reported Block Grant Service Company has requested Mayfield Village <br />be a part of the Urban County which would help it to receive block grants. <br />This is being looked into. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola said the meeting was canceled and <br />is rescheduled for this Thursday. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola reported there was no requirement for a Board <br />of Appeals meeting this month. <br />Cemetery = Mr. Etzler reported they will hold their annual meeting May 26 <br />at 1. p . m. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Etzler said their Anniversary Party was very <br />successful and noted upcoming even.ts. <br />Finance - Mrs. Bl.oom reported the Committee has not met yet this month. <br />Firemen's Dependents Fund - Mr. Flynn was absent and there was no report. <br />Hillcrest Council of Coun.c3.ls - Mrs. Bloom said their last meeting was with <br />,the Fire Chief and the disaster procedure was discussed. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Goley said plans for starting a men's basketball league were <br />discussed. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Basile reported at their May 7 meeting a lot split <br />was approved at 1061 Lander Road. Plans were submitted for an office building <br />at the corner of Beta Drive and Wilson Mills Road. A rezaning request was <br />made for three.parcels on Wilson Mills Road by Bill Knapp Restaurants for <br />family style restaurants. <br />Recreation - Mrs. Bloom said Jazzercise night is this Friday, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. , <br />at the Mayfield Middle School. Recreation will be having their Summer <br />Playground Program three mornings per week for Village children, age 4-9.
