<br />Regular Council Meeting <br />3/21/88 <br />Page 8 <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 88-9, entitled; "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE REFUSE HAULING CONTRACT FROM VILLAGE DISPOSAL, INCm TO <br />ECOLOGY SERVICES, INC. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor <br />Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Rinker, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Santoro, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. <br />88-9. Mayor Carmen explained that in May we will advertise for bids f or rubbish <br />service. When the bids are received, we will determine who will receive the <br />contract. He said that we will keep service flowing without interruption. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />Resolution No. 88-10, entitled; "A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MARCH 20 THROUGH <br />26, 1988 AS TORNADO SAFETY WEEK AND URGING PARTICIPATION OF RESIDENTS IN <br />TORNADO SAFETY ACTIVITIES." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a <br />Whole. <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Santoro, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. <br />88-10. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL <br />Mrs. Mills asked if any bids 'have been received for the employee <br />hospitalization insurance. <br />Mr. Basile said that no new bids were received. <br />Mayor Carmen said that Council will hold a brief Executive Session following <br />this meeting to discuss the 1988 salaries of the contract employeesa <br />Mr. Flynn said that the Finance Committee will meet after' the Executive <br />Session. <br />Mr. Feneli said that he received a call last Wednesday from Nancy Horton of <br />Love Insurance regarding American Empire Surplus Lines in reference to the <br />LaConte litigation. He said that she said they would be getting a letter to <br />us no later than April lst about whether or not there is insurance coverage <br />for that suit. Mr. Feneli said that as soon as he receives the response <br />from her, he will let Council know. <br /> <br /> <br />
