56 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />5/16/88 <br />Page 8 <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Santoro, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None - Motion Carried <br />• Rules Suspended <br />Mrs.-Cinco, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. <br />88-21, <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 88=23, entitled; "AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE POLICE AND.FIRE DEPARTMENTS.TO RESPOND TO EMERGENCY CALLS <br />OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the <br />entire Council. <br />Mr. Flynn said thaG he would.like to refer this resolution to the Safety and <br />Service Committee. •He said that he would like the Fire Chief to attend the <br />meeting to discuss the mutual aid contract. , <br />Resolution--No.--88-24, entitled; "A RESOLUTION COMMENDING. AND EXPRESSING <br />APPRECIATION TO DALE FENELI FOR HIS SERVICES AS LAW DIRECTOR FOR MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the entire Council. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />First Reading-6f-.Res6luti6n-N6:-88=25, entitled; "A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE <br />NECESSITY FOR PROUIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF STREET LIGHTING AND THE <br />IMPROVEMENT OR.INSTALLATION OF ADDITIONAL LIGHTING BY SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF <br />ALL PARCELS BENEFITTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor <br />Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY-COME BEFORE COUNCIL <br />Mrs. Cinco said that she wanted to bring to Council's attention the <br />outstanding efforts of seventeen-year old Bill Turner. He is a High School <br />Senior and has been working with the Mayfield Village Fire Department <br />(observing) since April. He became involved through the Job Search Program <br />at Mayfield High School and would like to pursue a career as a paramedic- <br />firefighter. <br />Mrs. Cinco suggested that a resolution be prepared for the After Prom <br />Committee. She said she feels the Village and Council should recognize the <br />things the High School does for our students. Mrs. Cinco said they raised <br />in donations through fund-raising and gifts, close to $17,000 for after-prom <br />last Friday evening. She said Sue Eastman headed the committee. The <br />After Prom was held from 12:30 - 5:30 a.m. and over 360 students from <br />Mayfield attended. As a parent, Mrs. Cinco said, that it is wonderful to <br />know where your child is after prome She said it was the first time it has <br />been done and she hopes they are able to repeat it. <br /> <br />? <br />? <br />
