101 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />8/15/88 <br />Page 9 <br /> Mr. Amendola said that there are still areas on concrete streets that are in <br /> miserable condition. He said that there are manholes that must be repaired <br /> but in order to make the repair a piece of roadway must be chopped out and <br /> then it must be repaired. He noted an especi ally bad section at the corner of <br /> Oakwood and Thornapple that has 10 sections i n pieces that should be fixed and <br /> said that there are 3 on Kenwood. He'said he estimates the work will run <br /> between $10-12,000. Mr. Amendola said that the Service Department would not <br /> be able to complete the catch basin repairs if the expenditure to repair the <br /> streets is not approved. <br />Mr. Patrick explained the priority list that was prepared by the Engineer and <br />said that this work would require advertisement of bids. <br />Mr. Ramos asked how bids could be advertised--how we would know what to <br />advertise foro <br />Mr. Amendola said that the catch basin areas that are marked off could be <br />checked. <br />Discussion was held. <br />Council agreed to turn the matter over to the Engineer and said that if the <br />work could be done, specs should be prepared. <br />Mr. Basile said that he has received numerous complaints about the sign at the <br />corner of Metro Park Drive and S.O.M. Center Road. He said the residents are <br />concerned because people cannot find their street. He asked Mr. Amendola what <br />could be doneo <br />Mr. Amendola said that he was aware of the concern and that the sign will be <br />painted again. <br />There being no further business, Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a <br />motion to adjourn. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m. <br />
