107
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
. Mayfield Village
September 26; 1988
The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monday, September
26, 1988, at eight o'clock p.m. (8:00 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the
Mayfield Village Hall. Council President Santo Basile presided.
Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills,
Mr. Petschauer, and Mr. Rinker (8:02 p.m.)
Absent : Mr. Santoro
Also Present Were . Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Hovancsek, Chief Mohr,
Mr. Patrick, Mr. Ramos, Chief Stevens, and Miss Heath.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
Mr. Rinker arrived at this time (8:02 p.m.)
OPEN EORTION
Florian Rickey, 6128 Wilson Mills Road, said that there is a lack of
communication as to what is going on on the road. He said that he had spoken
to Highland Heights residents and that Mayor Swanso.n has kept them informed as
to what is going on. Mr. Rickey said that he had been out of town and had
returned home this weelcend and was advised by the contractor that as of Monday
he would probably have to park somewhere elsee He said that if he had been out
of town longer that he probably.would have two cars in the garage with no way
to get the cars out. He said that the other side of.Wilson Mills from S.O.M.
to Lander Road is still a part of Mayfield Village. He said he expects a
certain amount of cooperation and information. He has talked to people in the
area and they do not realize they are losing two feet of their tree lawn. He
feels that there should somehow be better notification than to have someone
drop a note off one or two days ahead of timem Mr. Rickey said that if he
could receive the same thing as residents in Highland Heights he would be
happy. He said that_ the road construction work was being done for the
businesses and not f or the residents. He commended the Village Police, Fire and
Service Departments and said that he felt the Administration could help out a
little more. He said that they were told they would be parking over on Joyce
and Worton Park and that that is quite a distance for people that live on the
other end and suggested that residents be permitted to park at the library as
Highland Heights has arranged for their residents. Mro Rickey said he would
like to remind Mr. Rinker that his.ward includes Wilson Mills Road and part of
Ridgebury.
Mayor Carmen said that the notification the residents received correlated with
the notification the Village received from the contractor. He said that the
first time he knew that they were going to actually start tearing up the road
was about two days before they started to do it when they sent letters to
residents saying that they would not be able to use their driveways. Mayor
Carmen_said that a number of residents contacted us.and that he contacted the
Village_Engineer. Mr. Hoyancsek.advised.him that this was standard procedure.
He said that Mr. Hovancsek is the Engineer for a number of communities--
