109.
Regular Council Meeting
9/26/88
Page 2
including Highland Heightsa He said that he believed that Highland Heights
did precisely as we did which was on the day we learned, that letters were
hand-delivered to the residents telling them that they could park on any of
the side streets nearest to their home and at the Mayfield Methodist Church
during construction. Mayor Carmen said that he recognizes that there is a
tremendous inconvenience inherent in doing this road construction. He said
that before the project b.egan, the most number of comments he received were
from Mayfield Village residents. He said that more comments were received
about Wilson Mills Road than about any other issue since he has been Mayor or
on Council. Mayor Carmen apologized for the inconvenience that is occasioned
by the road and said that we did not think about residents parking at, the
school lot because he did not think that that would be more conveniente
However, if it may be more convenient he will seek permission to park in the
school lot. Mayor Carmen said that they have targeted the work to end on
November 30.
Mre Rickey said that the Village did not send letters to advise residents that
they would be losing a portion of their tree lawn.
Mayor Carmen said that during the time when the project was discussed and the
planning was done we had been all through that. He said that the time these
things are discussed are at Council Meetings and that all residents are
invited to come to meetings, especially when it is going to affect something
with respect to their area. Mayor Carmen said that we try to advise residents
of what is going on through the Voice of the Village and through letters but
that it is difficult to send a letter to the•residents each time we learn of a
development.
Mr. Rickey said that he is sure that the Village could pressure the contractor
to give them a little more information, and that the Village could give the
residents a report every 2-3 weeks.
Mayor Carmen said that we would try to do better; he appreciates his comment.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
Regular Meeting of Council - August 15, 1988 - Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mrs.
Mills, made a motion to approve the minutes as corrected.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Minutes Approved
(As Corrected)
Special Meeting of Council - September 7, 1988 - Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr.
Basile, made a motion to approve the minutes.
Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried
Minutes Approved
COMMENTS FROM MAYOR CARMEN

Mayor Carmen expressed thanks to all Villagers who served on the Village Days
Committee, to everyone who volunteered their time during Village Days, and to
everyone who attended.
