140 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />10/17/88 <br />Page 12 <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 88-47, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />GRANTING APPROVAL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE FOR THE TRANSFER OF CONTROL OF <br />ITS CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISEE, VIACOM CABLEVISION, TO CABLEVISION <br />SYSTEMS CORPORATION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor <br />Carmen and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules <br />of Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate <br />occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mrs. Mills,. made a motion to adopt <br />Resolution No. 88-47. <br />Mayor Carmen said that a cable company called Metro 10 recently <br />became available in the Mayfield Village area. He said because of <br />the deregulation of cable it may be considered in the near future as <br />an alternative to Viacom since their rates are 35% lower. He said <br />that more information should be available by the next Council Caucus. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None Resolution Adopted <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 88-48, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AMENDED AGREEMENT WITH HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, OHIO, FOR JOINT MAINTENANCE <br />OF THE TRANSYT TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM ON WILSON MILLS ROAD AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Fred N. Carmen and <br />the Entire Council. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if they had beguri work. <br />Sgt. Jay said that they are putting the poles in place but that they <br />can't do much until the concrete work is done. <br />Mr. Flynn asked what the system will do for us. <br />Sgt. Jay said that the new system will include the freeway ramps <br />which the old system did not. He said that the old system did not <br />take into account the major intersections. He said that the old <br />system was going to go from Lander Road to Beta Drive and it looks' <br />like the new system will include SOM. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that the new system will not include SOM to his <br />knowledge. He said that they are rebuilding the loop detectors in <br />the SOM Center Road area. <br />Mr. Flynn asked if this would be a good time to install a left-turn <br />lane for when a car is westbound on Wilson Mills wanting to go south <br />on SOM Center Road. <br /> <br /> <br />?J
