55 <br />MINUTES OF.THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />May -19, . 1986 <br />The Council of.the Village of Mayfield ttiet in Regular Sessio.n on Monday, <br />May 19, 1986, at 8:07.p.m. i,n the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. <br />Council President, Richard C. Etzler, presided. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Ro1T Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Etzler, Mr. Flynn, Mr. Goley, and <br />Mr.:. Petschauer Absent : None <br /> <br />Also Present Were' : Mayor Carmen, Mr. Ameridola, Mz.Feneli, Mr. Hovancsek, <br />Chief Hejcl, Chief Stevens, and,:'Mr. Toth(8:10) <br />OPEN PORTION <br />Judge Robert Grogan, Ward 1 Resident, was present along with a few other <br />zesidents to express concern about holes in their road. He explained that <br />6728 and 6800 Hickory Hill Drive are two areas of major concern.. The holes <br />in the road and right-of-way are getting deeper and poses a danger to the <br />area. He feels it is the Village's responsibility to keep the road free <br />from defects. <br />Mr. Toth arrived at this time. (8:10 p.m.) <br />Mr. Etzler said that about $30,000 was appropriated for miscellaneous road <br />repair. He asked Mr. Amendola what could be done. <br />Mr. Amendola said the residents of that'_area.-.do not want repair made with <br />asphalt or hydraul.ic cement, they want concrete replacement which is a more <br />costly and time-consuming project. <br />Mr. Etzler asked how it would be to put in asphalt for temporary repair, <br />until the area could be patched with concrete. <br />There were no objections from the audience. <br />Mayor Carmen explained the road rating process and the five year repair <br />plan. He_recognizes that more permanent work will have to be done, but <br />according to the.5 year plan, the roads are repaired,by priority, and there <br />are roads in greater need of repair. <br />Mr. Bob Deal, 6765 Thornapple Drive, Chairman of the Charter Review Commission, <br />said about a week ago<he was upset because he did not receive the information
