<br />First Reading of Resolution 86=37, entitled; "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO PURCHASE FROM LOVE I-NSURANCE AGENCY A? <br />POLICY OF AUTOMOBILE AND GENERAL LZABILITY INSURANCE FOR THE PERIOD OF <br />JULY l, 1986 TO JULY 7, 1:987 IN -AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY SEVEN <br />THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY NINE DOLLARS ($27,7-49.00) AND DECLAR.ING AN <br />EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Fred N. Carmen. <br />Mr. Go1ey, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All I <br />NAYS: None • Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to ad-opt Resolution 86-37. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />CLOSING COMMENTS <br />Motion Carried. <br />Resolution Adopted <br />Mr. Goley questioned the purchase of.blinds for the west side of the Fire <br />Department window. <br />Mayor Carmen stated this would'be taken care of. <br />Mr..Goley commented on the Smoking Ordinance...at the last meeting, a <br />decision was made to prepare an ordinance that will include the committee's <br />revisions making it a much better ordinance than originally introduced. <br />Mr. Goley stated that due to his being employed by a bank that could qualify <br />as a depository for the Village, he would have a conflict and not be able <br />to vote on the ordinance. He did, however, at the Caucus Meeting, express <br />his hope that the Finance Dir.ector or Council would review sincethere are <br />new institutions being considered, the statement of conditions as well as <br />determine that our funds would be federally insured. <br />Mr. Etzler stated that this was referred to Caucus awaiting Mr. Goley!s input. <br />Mr. Goley commented that he had not received notice of. this. <br />Mr. Fl,ynn questioned a matter regarding the Fire Department but i.t b.ad been <br />taken care af. <br />Mayor Carmen said he would like to<.eommenC on the compromise referred to. by <br />Mr. Goley on the Smoking Ordinan.ce, which makes it a better ordinance. The <br />ma.in objection from businesses originally was that they wanted to implement <br />their own.program;. not forced. This ordinance will set a minimum standard.
