117 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayf ield Village <br />September 15, 1986 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Regular Session on Monday, <br />September 15, 1986, at 8:06 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village <br />Hall. Council President'Richard C. Etzler presided. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Etzler, Mr.•Flynn (8:08), Mr. Goley, <br />and Mr.. Petschauer <br />Absent : None <br />Also Present Were . Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Feneli, Mr. Hovancsek, <br />Chief Hejcl, and Chief Stevens. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />OPEN PORTION <br />Mr. Larry Bostoky, Chairman of the Mayfield School Bond:Issue'_Committee, <br />explained the three issues t.o appear on the November ballot. One issue is <br />to raise $5.9 million dollars for the construction of a sports complex <br />(track and swimming pool) Co be added to the Mayfield High School gymnasium. <br />The next issue is an operating levy in the amount of 3/10 of one mill to <br />staff and operate the swimming pool and community athletic complex to <br />generate approximately $150,-000 per year. The third issue is a permanent <br />renewal levy which will not create a tax incY•ease. <br />Mr. Bostoky asked that Council give their endorsement to these,issues, and <br />p.ossibly consider adopting a resolutiori indicating tYieir.support. He feeTs <br />that their endorsement will be of assistance to them. He distributed a fact <br />sheet to Council and the members of the audience. He said the committee will <br />meet every Tuesday night until the election and members are avail.able to <br />answer questions, etc. <br />Mr. Flynn arrived at this time (8:08 p.m.) <br />Mr. William Pierce, 7000 Upper Forties Drive, asked if any progress is being <br />made regarding t.he streams. He feels the increased water tlow may cause <br />problems. The SOM pond.is turning into.mud. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he comtacted the Department of Natural Resources to see <br />if funds were available for these projects, and was advised that they no . <br />longer have funde, available for that work. He then contacted the Soil <br />Conservation Office; furcds were not available. Mr. Hovancsek said that <br />we are aware that there is a problem in both ponds, but how it will be <br />addres.sed is yet to be determined. <br />Mr. Etzler asked if there will be an increased water flow in these streams.
