Carmen Re: Garage at 6735 Hickory Hill Drive In anticipation of your.Special Meeting on Monday evening regarding the gar,age at 6735 Hiclcory Hill Drive, I wanted to write to you to express my opinion on this topic. As you are already aware, this matter has caused a great deal of concern among the residents of Hickory Hi11 and Blueberry Circle. I have had numerous calls by residents, all of which were to inform me that in their opinion the proposed structure was inconsistent with the character and aesthetics of the neighborhoode In light of these calls I went to the propertd`y and viewed the foundation of the prcposed garage. I must tell you that I am in full agreement with those residents who feel that the size of this building is inappropriate in relation to the lot size. When we deal with residential neighborhoods and property values I believe that we must be extremely careful. In this case, I am of the opinion that the proposed structure would be inconsistent architecturally with the character of both the neighborhood and the community and would likely adversely affect property values. Accordingly, I urge you to disapprove the plans for this structure. I have spoken with Law Director Dale Feneli, and he has advised me that it is within your authority, should you so choose, to disapprove these plans. If you believe as I do that this structure is inappropriate on a half-acre lot in a residential subdivision, it is your duty to disapprove these plans. Dale referred me to Section 1305.07 of the Codified Ordinances which delineates the authority of the Architectural Review Board and sets out the! grounds on which a permit may be denied.
