F1ynn, made'a motion to adopt Resolution No. <br />86-41. <br />Ro11 Ca11: AYES: A11 <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />Third Reading c:f Resolution No. 86-51, entitled; "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH COOK PAVING <br />AND CONSTRUCTION CO., INC.- IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY TWO THOUSAND <br />FIVE HUNDRED NINETY FOUR. DOLLARS .($32,594:00), FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE <br />VILLAGE SENIOR CENTER PARKING LOT, THE AWARD OF SAID CONTRACT TO BE <br />CONTINGENT UPON ACCEPTANCE OF•SAME BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENGY." Introduced by Maqor Carmen <br />and Council as a Whole. (First Reading-Ru1es Suspended-Motion to Pass <br />Tabled - 9/13%86.) <br />Mr. Etzler said he.wanted to place Resolutiqn No. 86-51 on second reading. <br />Mr. Feneli explained why that could not be done, and discussion was held <br />regarding the procedure for suspension.of rules, etc. No action was taken on Resolution No. 86-51. <br /> <br />Mr. Go1ey said that he did not get a chance to make a statement on Ordinance <br />No. 86-.19. He would appreciate it if we could po11 the interest in the <br />Police Department to try to make a better decision on this ordinance, and <br />also to determine how many runs paramedics from the Fire Department have <br />assisted on. <br />Mayor.Carmen asked Chief Hejcl and Chief Stevens to get this information for <br />Council. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 86-26, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE N0. 85=27 PERTAINING TO WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER_ TERMS AND <br />CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR EMPLOYEES OF MAYFIELb VILLAGE; OHIO, BY <br />ENACTING NEW SECTION I(N) PERTAINING TO EMPLOYEES GTHO-ARE ABSENT FROM <br />THEIR EMPLOYMENT DUE TO CERTAIN MILITARY OBLIGATIONS AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENGY." Introduced by_Mayor Carmen and Council as a WhoZe, ` <br />Resolution No. 86-50, enti,tled; "A RESOLUTION URGING THE ELECTORATE OF <br />THE HILLCREST AREA TO VOTE "YES"'ON ISSUE 31 AUTHORIZING A 1.134 MILL BOND <br />ISSUE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SWIMMING POOL AND COMMUNITY COMPLEX ON <br />THE CAMPUS OF MAYFIELD HIGH SCHOOL." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and <br />Members of Council.. <br />Mr. Petschauer, seconded by Mr. Go1ey, made a motion to adopt Resol.ution <br />No. 86-50.. Mayor Carmen said he was not present-at the end of the last Caucus and <br />he understands this issue was.discussed. He said discussion was.held about <br />whether or not it is appropriate for Counci.l.to express their op:iniori on <br />School Board issues. He feels it is very appropriate for Council to express their opinion,.and urges them to vote yes on this I.egislatior.. <br />
