162 <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Medical Insurance - Mr. Feneli said he contacted the Ohio Department of <br />Insurance concerning the cancellation clauses. The 30-day cancellation <br />clause which is included in our po'licy is binding should they wish to <br />enforce it. Since we pay our premiums monthly, the next question becomes <br />should we make a change and cancel. Mr. Feneli-said he will contact the <br />Blue,Cross/Blue Shield Director and report on this at the next Caucus. <br />Sign Variance - Jefferson Buildings - Mr. Simon has requested a variance from <br />30 feet to 20 feet (a 10 foot variance:) Everyone has received copies of <br />the plan. <br />Mr. Goley said the e:ign appears to be right at the sidewalk in the plans, <br />and asked if that was actually where it is proposed to be. <br />Mr. Simon said the sign will sit back 20 feet from the right-of-way, which is <br />almost 20 feet from the sidewalk. <br />Discussicn was held regarding whether or not Mr. Simon had installed the smoke <br />detectors and sprinkler systems required by the Village. <br />Mr. Flynn said Council wants to be sure Mr. Simon:?.is not going to try to <br />avoid installing the alarm and sprinkler system. <br />Mr. Simon said what we are requested to do, we will do. <br />Mr. Petschauer said tHings that should have been done have not been done, <br />atid now Mr. Simon is requesting a variance. . <br />Mr. Feneli pointed out that the two were not related. He asked Mr. Simon <br />if the buildings in question were occupied. <br />Mr. Simon said theS are 60-70% occupied. <br />Mr. Goley asked if there is a necessity to get the sign up immediately, or if <br />it would be possible to wait. He has not liad an opportunity to look at the <br />area where the sign will be placed. <br />Mr. Petschauer, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to table the sign <br />variance request. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: A1.1 <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Var.iance Request Tabled <br />Further discussicn was heYd. <br />Mr. Feneli said that he thinks everyone wants to make sure Mr. Simon meets <br />the Village requirements or makes alternate requirements as agr.eed on by the <br />Village. If the buildings are occupied, these items shou'ld have been done <br />before occupancy. He feels Mr. Simon should at least submit his plans to <br />comply with these requests in writing.
