Mr. Etz'ler said if Mayfie'ld Vil.'lage 'decides to participate in the study, .. <br />the cost of the study wiY1 go up approximately 20%. The cost for the first <br />phase shou'ld tie around $8,500, and the second phase shou:Ld.be about $9,000. <br />_ Inc:Luding, the third phase at _a cost..of $7,000, the tota:L cost shou:Lcl. be <br />about $24,000. The.third phase wou'ld only coine into effect if the system <br />was installed. <br />Mr. Etzler said he feels the potential for Mayfield Vi1'lage to save money <br />is very apparent. He said we're talking about $5,000 for Mayfie'ld Vi'11ag;e <br />to': participate in.:;this study. <br />Mr. Go'ley.said the correspondence did.not indicate which communities were <br />participating and asked for Chief Stevens' input. <br />Chief Stevens said he did not receive a copy of the correspondence. <br />Discussion was hel.d. <br />Mayor Carmen said he agrees with Mr. Etzler that there cou:Ld be a potential <br />cost savings, however, a few years ago when this type of plan was discussed <br />with Mayfield Heights and Righlarid Heights they saw a few prob:Lems with <br />joint dispatch working for them. He said he wou'ld lilr.e.to have some type <br />of written commitment from these cities that they wou'ld be wi:L:Ling to fo'1'low <br />the recommendation of the p:Lanner. He is not interested in sper:ding $5,000 <br />on. a study if the p'lar: wil'1 not be imp:Lemented. <br />Mr. Etz'ler said he fee'ls that $5,000 is reYative to the potentia:L of saving <br />$100,000 a year in di:spatch sa:Laries, an.d con.sidering the savings that <br />wou'ld develop over a.ten-year period.
