70 <br />MINUTES OF TBE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCII, <br />Mayfield Village <br />May 21, 1990 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monda.y, May 21, 1990, at eight <br />o'clock (8:00) p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Lillian Mills <br />presided. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, <br />Mr. Pietrafese, and Mr. Rinker <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Patrick, and <br />Mr. Ramos (Note: Safety forces were not present due to an <br />accident that occurred just prior to the meeting.) Miss Heath. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />OPEN PORTION <br />Joanne Corradetti. 6172 Wilson Mills Road, said that last year she became involved with the <br />Concerned Women of America. She recendy became the District Coordinator of the Chapter of <br />Cleveland. Mrs. Corradetti said that she holds prayer meetings in her home and wants to tell <br />everyone what they are about. She said the Concerned Women of America try to preserve, protect <br />and promote the concerns of women and men who believe in its values. They fight against <br />pornography, drugs, and child abuse. Mrs. Corradetti said that she publicly wants to take a stand <br />and tell her neighbors and Councilrnen that she is a pro-lifer and believes in choice but feels people <br />should not have the right to choose to kill. She said she will leave some litera.ture on the table. <br />Henry Merkel. Upper 40 Drive, said that he and two other families on Upper Forty have a problem <br />with the private road and driveways from excessive run-off from Aintree North and the stream. <br />He said there is enough water going into the creek that it floods their neighbor's drive and washes <br />out their private road and the park road below it. He said the flooding conditions last about one <br />hour. Mr. Merkel asked if it would be possible for a representative from the Village to meet with a <br />Park representative to discuss a solution to the flooding problems. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he is aware of the problem and a solution would be to provide some upstream <br />detenrion. Burgess and Niple prepared a master drainage plan that listed drainage projects. The <br />Upper 40 has been idenrified and listed as one of the projects that should be done in the Village but <br />it will take quite a bit of money to do the corrective work. <br />Mr. Merkel asked if we could have a meeting at some point to discuss it. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that if the administration would like him to set up a meeting, he will do so. <br />Mr. Pietrafese suggested a rime be set for the meeting. <br />Mrs. Merkel said they have pictures of the problems to show the people who have not been there.
