112
Special Council Meeting
6/27/90
Page 2
Mr. Amendola explained that the bid submitted was for a dark blue vehicle, not light blue as
specified. He needs to obtain more information about what vehicle would be available in a light
blue.
First Reading of Resolurion No. 90-45, entitled; "A RESOLUTION DECLARING LAKE
TRUCK COMPANY, TO BE TBE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER FOR TBE PURCHASE OF
A 1991 TWO TON INTERNATIONAL CAB AND CHASSIS WITH DUMP BODY IN TBE
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS
($57,800.00), AUTHORIZING TBE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCII. TO EXECUT'E
A PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR SAID VEHICLE, REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole.
Mr. Amendola said that he wrote a note to Mr. Ramos regarding these bids. He explained that
while the bid received from Lake Truck is $550 higher than the bid from Eagle International, that
he recommends I:ake Truck because of the distance to travel to get parts and for repairs. (Lake
Truck is located in Painesville, Eagle International is in Alron.)
Discussion was held about the trade-in of the vehicle.
Mr. Ramos said the bid we received to sell the vehicle is higher than the trade-in amount quoted by
either bidder.
Mrs. Mills said she thinks going to Akron would be out of reach.
Mr. Ferrante said he sees nothing wrong with accepting Lake Truck's bid.
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring a
resolution to be read on three separate readings.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 90-45.
Mr. Ramos stated that because of Mayfield Village's past dealings with Lake Truck Company and
the convenience of servicing the equipment as far as their location, that is why Council is rejecting
the bid from Eagle International and accepting this bid.
Mr. Rinker stated he felt it would be more economical in the long run.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
