150 <br />Special Council Meeting <br />8/27/90 <br />Page 2 <br />Mayor Carmen said he expects to be able to use the three fields at Center School and retain the one <br />field at Wiley Park closest to the road. He does not expect the repair of the field to exceed $5,000. <br />Mr. Ramos said Council could amend the appropriation ordinance if necessary but in the meantime <br />if the expenses aze less than $5,000, they could get two informal bids. If the bids are less than <br />$1,500, Mayor Carmen can approve the expenditure. <br />Mrs. Mills said there will be several different vendors; not one expenditure of $5,000. <br />Mr. Ramos said the appropriation ordinance could be amended this evening if Council wished to <br />act on it as an emergency. <br />Mr. Fixler said he hated to lose the good weather. <br />Mr. Patrick explained that there is sufficient monies in the Recreation fund that the work could be <br />done; the legislation can be prepazed to take care of it afterwards. He said the purchase requisitions <br />must be prepared and the proper procedure must be followed. <br />Mr. Fixler said that the Board did not want to go forward with the repairs to find that Council had <br />changed their mind. All they are looking for is if Council will give their o.k. <br />Mr. Itamos said that Council did not have to take action tonight. They will just need to amend the <br />appropriation ordinance. <br />Council took a straw vote to show their support of the Wiley field repair for the Recreation Board. <br />All members of Council expressed theu support. <br />Mr. Ramos said that formal action will be taken at the next Council meering. <br />Mr. Patrick requested that the Recrearion Board prepare requisitions and have them processed <br />before services are contracted. <br />First lteading of Ordinance No 90-37, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />123.02 OF TBE CODIFIEI3 ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, PERTAINING <br />TO TBE PURCHASE OF GOODS AND SERVICES FOR TBE MUlVICIPALITY, PROVIDING <br />FOR ALL NECESSARY PROCEDURES IN CONNECTION TBEREWITH AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Certain Members of Council. <br />Ivlr.
