Regular Council Meeting
9/17/90
Page 7
Mr. Hovancsek said to clean the culvert we will probably have to agree to pay nominal rental
charges on a crane, and that a dozer would be needed for about 8 hours. He will work with Mr.
Amendola to clean the culvert. He said the work should be done within the next 30 days before it
gets colder. He estimates the cost for the dozer to be about $500 and there will be a cost for the
crane and operator, probably about $1,500 total.
481 Woodbine Circle (Joseph Sawicki) - Rear Yard Drainage - Mr. Hovancsek said we received a
letter from the residents about drainage problems. Upon inspection, we found that they have four-
inch pipe leading into the swale which was installed by the property owners without our
knowledge.
Mayor Carmen asked Mr. Hovancsek to write a report and send him a copy of it. He asked him to
call the residents personally and explain what he found.
Mr. Basile said he built a deck into the swale.
Mayor Camlen asked Mr. Hovancsek to include the encroachment in .the swale in his report.
Mr. Hovancsek said he will survey the property to find out what is in our area. He will include this
information in his report.
Sidewalk Replacement - Deferred to SIring 1991 - Mrs. Mills said there is not enough time to get
the work done this year; keep it in mind for spring.
_.. ..? ... .._ . Emnlovee.:Incentive Program - Defened to Spring 1991- Mrs. Mills suggested this matter be
deferrred until spring since there are Cavaliers rickets.
Mayor Carmen pointed out that that would leave two months with nothing for the incenrive
program.
Mr. Basile asked if the "Employee of the Week" could be held every two weeks or once a month.
Discussion was held.
Mayor Carmen said that with the number of full-time employees in the program, if a different
employee was every week, an employee could win one and a half times a year. He thinks
continuing the program will have a positive impact.
Mrs. Mills suggested that a particulaz amount of monies be appropriated in 1991, not to be
exceeded. '
Mayor Carmen said he does not think it would be a bad idea to plan the program a year in advance.
Mayor Carmen asked if anyone had a significant objection to purchasing Browns and Play House
rickets for the incentive program. _
There were no objections.
Mayor Carmen said he will include this information in the summary on Friday.
