164
Regulaz Council Meeting
9/17/90
Page 6
Mayor Carmen said he would like to have the proposals by the 24th , with the due date of October
Yst, the next Council Caucus. Mayor Carmen said he would like to know the cost (out the door)
as to where we aze now from the two phases completed to get the storm water utility up and
operating. The contractor must provide their expertise for preparation of the resolution and work
with our Law Director to complete it.
Highland Road Ditching Update - Mr. Hovancsek said he reviewed it and the project came out
well. The residents who did not participate would like to have their ditches culverted. Mr.
Hovancsek explained why one resident does not want to give up space for a normal ditch. Mr.
Hovancselc said they would like us to give them a price, but he thinks they should pay for the
work. Mre Hovancsek said there was an odor to the water in the creek which was sepric affluent.
He said he feels the contractor did a reasonably good job.
Mayor Cannen asked what that meant.
Mr. Hovancsek said he felt some more hand work could be done to make it function better, and the
low spots should be drained. _
Mayor Carmen said to tell them that.
Hanover Woods Ditches - Visual Check Report - Mr. Hovancsek said a report was submitted to
the Village. He said that some swales are shallower than they should be.
A brief discussion was held.
Mr. Hovancselc to give Mayor Carmen a brief update on the ditches and what the residents must
do. He will have a letter this week.
Jones Pond and Mavfield Heights Participarion - Mr. Hovancsek said he spoke to Mayor DeJohn
about getting their pernussion to do the work on the pond for the Village residents (part of the
work must be done on Mayfield Heights property.) He said that Mayor DeJohn indicated that
because of the drainage litigation which involves the two municipalities they did not feel they
should give Mayfield Village pernussion to do the work on the right-of-way.
Mayor Carmen said that Mayfield Heights made construction improvements in their municipality
vvhich disrupted a creek on a private residence in Mayfield Village. As far as he knows there is no
connection between the lawsuit and this particulaz wildlife preserve created by residents in
Mayfield Village. He said that we only asked them to allow us to do minor work in the
right-of-way and they are holding that hostage because they do not like the fact that we are
involved in a lawsuit. The question is where do we go from here.
Beechers Brook (Vitale and Kneier Residences) - Mr. Hovancsek said he talked to Mr. Vitale.
Since that time, he believes his house is up for sale. It is his understanding that the Kneier J
litigation was dropped. The questions is what do you want to do.
1VIrs. Mills asked about the culvert at Beecher's Brook.
