192
Regular Council Meeting
11/19/90
Page Two
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES•
Regular Meeting of Council - October 15 1990 - Mr
motion to approve the minutes.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORT
Basile, seconded by Mr. Femante, made a
Motion Carried
Mnutes Approveal
Mr. Ramos apologized for the tardiness of Ordinance No. 90-48. He said the ordinance re-
establishes the compensation for the part-time Administrarive Assistant and Secretary/Receptionist
in the Building and Service Departrnent. Because the Secretary/Receptionist is also the Cleaning
Supervisor, the ordinance breaks up the compensation for the two positions so that the salary for
the Secretary/Receptionist is listed separately from the compensation for the Cleaning Supervisor.
The ordinance also provides for a part-time emergency employee in the Service Department. Mr.
Ramos said the part-time emergency employee cannot have that position in excess of 12 weeks.
Mr. Hovancselc arrived at this rime (8:07 p.m.)
Mrs. Mills asked Mr. Hovancsek what was going on in Hanover Woods with the swales.
..: Mr. Hovancsek said he sent out a survey crew to shoot the grades. They deterrruned all but about
a half dozen lots had swales that were shallow and did not follow the plan. He prepared a report
which was submitted to Council. Letters were sent to residents explaining that their grades must
match the plan grades. Mr. Hovancsek said he suggested that Mr. Amendola also mail residents
copies of the grades surveyed. He said it is too late in the season for the work to completed this
fall.
Mr. Noble asked what caused the grades to be too shallow now.
Mr. Hovancsek explained that the gracies were changed for many reasons. As the subdivision was
being constructed many berm areas were torn up by construction vehicles.
Mr. Noble said that no one changed his swale. He did the landscaping himself and the swale looks
like it did originally when he bought the lot.
Mrs. Noble said they never observed any vehicles parking on their berm; there was no reason for
them to park in front of their lot
Mr. Noble said he wonders why the responsibility is theirs because they do not feel it was
changed; the swales are exactly as they were when they bought the lot.
Discussion was held.
