<br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />January 30, 1989 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, <br />January 30, 1989, at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village <br />Hall. Council President Santo Basile presided. <br />Mr. Basile said the meeting was called to consider Resolution No. 89-6 <br />and Ordinance No. 89-2. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, <br />Mrs. Mills, Mr. Rinker, and Mr. Petschauer <br />(8:05 p.m.) <br />Absent: Mr. Santoro <br />Also Present Were . Mr. Patrick, Mr. Ramos, Mr. Wolszynek <br />(For Mr. Hovancsek) and Miss Heath. <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 89-6, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />DESIGNATING THE MAYOR OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, AS THE CERTIFYING <br />REPRESENTATIVE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR AND CERTIFY COMPLIANCE WITH <br />ISSUE 2 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN <br />FOR MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by <br />Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Rinker, made a motion to suspend the rules <br />of Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate <br />occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Rinker, made a motion to adopt Resolution <br />No. 89-6. <br />Mr. Wolszynek explained that in order to apply for the Issue 2 Funding <br />each community was required to prepare an inventory of their <br />infastructure. He said that they gathered some of the data for the <br />report from records and went out into the field to obtain other data. <br />He described the type of information included in the report. <br />Mr. Wolszynek said they set a 5-year plan of which one project will be <br />addressed in the next five years. This will be followed up with a <br />priority list. The priority list includes the projects we will apply <br />for based on what they determined was #1 etc. He said that we have <br />prepared applications for 1989 which total some $820,000. That means <br />we will be submitting applications for a share of the available funding <br />which is 14 million dollars. He explained that this year 14 million <br />dollars is available twice (once in February and once in June) because <br />this was supposed to start in 1988; they are letting out two sums of <br />dollars because they're behind. The priority list will be updated each <br />year.
