_?;? %?`- ?.
Regular Council Meeting
8/21/89
- Page 5
Fisher's Tavern - Mr. Basile asked if anyone had talked to Dr. Faulkner
since the Caucus.
New Village Signs - Miss Heath said that Mr. Kotoch had supplied the
name of another person who might be able to provide the signs.
Specifications were sent to them but we have not received a quotation
to date. Mr. Basile asked Donna to contact them again.
Gazebo - Mr. Basile said many residents have asked him why we aren't
doing anything with the gazebo right now.
Mr. Flynn said that we do not have the necessary funds to complete the
construction the way Mayor Carmen and Mr. Amendola feel it should be.
He said that it was determined at a previous meeting that construction
would be completed next spring, using a combination of 1989-90 monies.
Mr. Rinker said Council felt the dollars weren't available this year
so the gazebo project is slated for next year.
Mayor Carmen said we have held off soliciting businesses until after
Village Days. He said that a number of businesses have made
_ commitments to give donations. Toni and Donna will begin working on
obtaining the funding for that project.
Bicycle Path - Mr. Basile said he thinks something needs to be done to
keep cars from going onto the path.
Mayor Carmen said that the Village tends to hit walls about how this
problem can be resolved. They have looked at various options for a
long time. Since it is almost at the end of the summer season he
expects to complete some research during the winter months and decide
how to proceed.
Mr. Rinker said maybe the Village can prioritize its options legally.
Mrs. Mills said that the Safety and Service Committee has discussed
this problem also. She has seen bikers, skateboarders and joggers all
using the path at the same time and something needs to be done.
Sound System - Mr. Amendola said that he had received two quotes:
D & J Sound Company $6,895
Professional Sound Services $4,500
Mr. Amendola said that he does not know much about sound systems and
therefore must assume they are being honest about what type of system
we need and the quality of their system. He said he could try to
obtain more quotations before the next Council Caucus if Council so
desired.
? Mr. Flynn asked that Council receive copies of the quotations and
suggested that this be discussed at upcoming Safety/Service and Finance
rCommittee meetings.
