ZlIA-) <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />8/21/89 <br />Page 4 <br />Recreation - Mre Petschauer was absent; Mr. Santoro said he had not <br />attended the last meeting. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Mills said that snow plowing should be <br />included on the next Council Caucus agenda. Also, Mr. Hovancsek was <br />supposed to present plans regarding water retention basins in Highland <br />Heights. This matter should also be included on the Caucus agenda. <br />Mr. Amendola was to obtain prices on sound systems. Mrs. Mills said <br />that the Safety and Service Committee recommends the purchase of radios <br />for the Police Department. They discussed the hazardous waste route <br />along Rt. 271 and the hazardous materials call on Worton Park. <br />Mr. Ramos said that the procedure regarding the reimbursement of monies <br />spent on a hazardous materials call is spelled out in the Ohio Revised <br />Code. The ordinance (89-33) should be placed on first reading this <br />evening. <br />Mrs. Mills reported that the new pumper will be on line on August 28. <br />The sale or retention of the old fire truck should also be included on <br />the next Caucus agenda. <br />F? <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Aintree North Drainage - Mr. Basile asked if the other portion had for <br />gone out for bids. NENW-0- <br />Mayor Carmen said that Bob Bright from Burgess and Niple is reviewing <br />the plans and specifications. Mayor Carmen said that he wants to <br />review them before he gets back to us. ' <br />Mayor Carmen asked what was done with the Ziernicki property. <br />That work is to be done during Phase Two. <br />Mr. Amendola asked Council to pass around the pictures of the work <br />done. It looks like they did a good job. <br />Ditching - North Side of Highland Road - Mr. Ramos said he is still <br />waiting to hear from Mr. Roseback. <br />Mr. Wolszynek said that he had talked to Rusty Roseback regarding the <br />culvert problem. He was told that the opening was not large enough to <br />accept all the water going in therea <br />Mr. Amendola expressed concern about the next storm. That area is one <br />foot lower than the ditch grade. If the area could be hand-dug by <br />Village personnel, would that conflict with the plans they have for the <br />repair of the ditch? <br />Mr. Wolszynek said it would not conflict, it'd be o.k. to do. Mr. <br />Roseback had received one bid for the work but did not like the price. <br />He will be contacting a local contractor to obtain another estimate.
