8F? <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />October 24, 1989 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, <br />October 24, 1989, at 8:11 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village <br />Hall. Council President Santo Basile presided. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, <br />Mr. Rinker, and Mr. Santoro <br />Absent : Mr. Petschauer <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Ramos, and <br />Miss Heath <br />Third Reading of Ordinance No. 89-39, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING <br />SECTION 137.02 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTAINING TO THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT SERVICE DIRECTOR AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council. <br />(First Reading 9/18/89,`Second Reading 10/16/89.) <br />Mr. Rinker, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to enact Ordinance <br />No. 89-39. <br />Mayor Carmen said that according to research done by the Law Director, <br />the position can remain on the books and remain unfilled; there is no <br />requirement that he appoint someone to the position. He said that <br />based on Gus's recommendation the position will remain open i:f it <br />remains on the books. <br />Mr. Rinker asked when the position was created. <br />Mayor Carmen said it was created about 2 years ago so there would be a <br />second- in- command when Mr. Amendola was on vacation. Since that time <br />there have been a number of problems and in order to get things back to <br />an even keel they would like to abolish the position. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Rinker, <br />and Mr. Santoro <br />NAYS: Mr. Flyrin Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />Mr. Flynn asked to amend the agenda to discuss Beech Hill tonight. <br />There were no objections. <br />First Reading of Resolution No. 89-71, entitled; "A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF AN INFORMAL <br />BID FROM PROGRESSIVE LANDSCAPING DESIGN TO PROVIDE SNOWPLOWING FOR THE <br />ELDERLY AND DISABLED RESIDENTS OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO." Introduced <br />by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole.
