25, Regulaz Council Meeting 2/17/92 Page Nine Li7-ht at Worton Park - Lt. Jay said the light at the intersection of Beta and Raleigh has not turned out to be as nice as they had hoped. He said they were under the impression that that intersection would be tied in with Beta and a legalized signal would be put at Raleigh. Raleigh has its own phase. Lt. Jay said that Mr. Diemert may want to look into its legality. He does not feel it is warranted under the rules established by the Ohio Department of Transportation. The question if a signal would be warranted at Worton Pazk has come up many times since 1974. And if a signal that has been installed is not warranted, Mayfield Village sticks its neck out. He said we cannot meet the warrants. Mr. Rinker asked if it would change things if it were tied into Beta. Lt. Jay said it cannot be; it must have its own phase. He cited the staristics and requirements a signal must meet. He thinks we should continue to do what we have; keeping the "Do Not Block Intersection" sign and painting the stop baz double-wide. He said we might add another "Do Not Block Intersection" on the east side of the intersection. He said the only enforceable sign is the "Do Not Block Intersection" sign. Discussion was held. Mr. Hovancsek said he concurs with Lt. Jay. NEW BUSINE55: Law Director's U dn ates: • Discussion of Ordinance Review Aeenda - Mr. Diemert said he will look into reinstituting our acrive membership in the group purchasing (cooperative) program through the State of Ohio, and will bring this informarion to the next meeting. General: • Approval of 1992 dues - Mavfield Townshin Historical Societv ($2,500) - Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a morion to authorize the expenditure of $2,500 for the 1992 dues for the Mayfield Township Historical Society. ROLL CALL: AYES: All NAYS: None ABSTAIN: Mr. Flynn Motion Carried Expenditure Authorized Mr. Fixler said he has never seen a list of expenditures on the dollars they have spent; he would like to see one. Mrs. Cinco said they will provide a list of expenditures. Mr. Rinker said he wishes the Historical Society the best of luck. First Reading of Ordinance No. 92-04, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with ABV Contractors, Inc. for channel work at the Service Building and declaring an emergency."
