92
Special Meeting of Council
5/28/92
Page Two
Mr. Diemert arrived at this rime and explained that legislation was not available since he had been
in court yesterday and his secretary understood the meetuig would be held at 8:30 thns evening,
instead of this morning. He has received a fax from Mr. Amendola, but he has not had a chance to
look at the materials or discuss it with Mr. Amendola.
Discussion was held on a new fee for recreation purposes.
Mr. Diemert stated a$400.00 impact fee for recreation is presently being charged in I'vlacerionia; it
was challenged in court and the city won. He did not feel $500.00 would be objectionable.
Discussion was held on chazging condominium or apartment residents.
Mr. Flynn stated that Mr. Fixler brought up a good point on the penalty assesseci should a
contractor fail to take out a permit.
Mr. Fixler stated that $200.00 does not seem large enough. A contractor, for example, putting in a
$10,000.00 water proofing job may consider the penalty not worth the trouble of taking out a
permit. Perhaps a$500.00 minimum with a percentage being charged on the larger jobs.
Mr. Diemert stated the Village has the criminal code they can enforce if the contractor is flagrant.
?
Mr. Rinkex was of the opinion that Mr. Amendola's input is needed and more discussion is to be
held at the Caucus on Monday.
Mayor Pietrafese asked for Council's opinion on employees using the Community Room. ?--'
Aresently they are not charged for the use and would like to know if they should be charged the
resident's fee for other uses in the same year or the non-resident's fee.
Discussion was held and it would be the resident's fee and Mr. Diemert to draw up legislation to
amend the ordinance and could be considered at the Special Meeting on Monday.
1VIr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
There being no objections, the meeting adjourned at 8:55 a.m.
, ?
COUN ? I SIDENT, UCE IN R
MAYOR, BLASE PIET AFESE
ACTING CLERK OF//0014?GCIL, DOROTFiY J. MARTIfV
