8.3 <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCII. <br />Mayfield Village <br />June 1 st, 1992 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, June lst, 1992, at eight <br />o'clock p.m. (8 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Bruce <br />Rinker presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />Mr. Flynn, Mr. Rinker <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present Were: Mr. Diemert, Chief Mohr, Chief Stevens, Mr. Toth, Mrs. Martin, <br />Mr. Woloszynek, for Mr. Hovancsek, and Miss Heath <br />Mr. Rinker said this Special Meeting was called to consider the legislation regarding Building <br />Department fees. <br />Mr. Rinker said that Mr. Amendola has advised him that he has a number of items he wants to <br />address regarding this ordinance. Mr. Amendola will be out for the rest of this week. Mr. Rinker <br />said he is willing to entertain any suggestions on how to proceed. Council could leave the <br />legislarion on first reading or adopt it this evening and amend it later. <br />Mr. Ferrante suggested leaving it on first reading. <br />Mr. Busa said he is in favor of passing it tonight. <br />Mrs. Martin asked if Mr. Diemert felt it would be a problem to charge one resident the existing fees <br />and to charge others the new fees. <br />Mr. Flynn said he felt Council should rnove ahead tonight and amend the legislation down the <br />road. Mr. Rinker asked if Mrs. Martin was aware of any specific item(s) that Gus is concerned about. <br />Mrs. Martin said his concern was on the new recreational fee. She asked if they could pass the <br />legislation without that part. <br />Mr. Rinker said they like the idea of the recrearional fee. <br />Mr. Flynn said he feels $500 is a nominal fee in relarion to the cost of the structures going up. <br />Mr. Diemert said he does not see a problem with charging people different rates at different times, <br />but it might be a problem regarding the recreational fee. That is the key thing in this ordinance as <br />far as emergency; the other charges aze minimal. <br />Discussion was held about the recreational impact fee and the fee for violation. <br />Mr. Diemert felt he would leave the existing penalty secrion in because it would apply to all.
