Council President Bruce
Rinker presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler,
Mr. Flynn, Mr. Rinker
Absent: None
Also Present Were: Mr. Diemert, Chief Mohr, Chief Stevens, Mr. Toth, Mrs. Martin,
Mr. Woloszynek, for Mr. Hovancsek, and Miss Heath
Mr. Rinker said this Special Meeting was called to consider the legislation regarding Building
Department fees.
Mr. Rinker said that Mr. Amendola has advised him that he has a number of items he wants to
address regarding this ordinance. Mr. Amendola will be out for the rest of this week. Mr. Rinker
said he is willing to entertain any suggestions on how to proceed. Council could leave the
legislarion on first reading or adopt it this evening and amend it later.
Mr. Ferrante suggested leaving it on first reading.
Mr. Busa said he is in favor of passing it tonight.
Mrs. Martin asked if Mr. Diemert felt it would be a problem to charge one resident the existing fees
and to charge others the new fees.
Mr. Flynn said he felt Council should rnove ahead tonight and amend the legislation down the
road. Mr. Rinker asked if Mrs. Martin was aware of any specific item(s) that Gus is concerned about.
Mrs. Martin said his concern was on the new recreational fee. She asked if they could pass the
legislation without that part.
Mr. Rinker said they like the idea of the recrearional fee.
Mr. Flynn said he feels $500 is a nominal fee in relarion to the cost of the structures going up.
Mr. Diemert said he does not see a problem with charging people different rates at different times,
but it might be a problem regarding the recreational fee. That is the key thing in this ordinance as
far as emergency; the other charges aze minimal.
Discussion was held about the recreational impact fee and the fee for violation.
Mr. Diemert felt he would leave the existing penalty secrion in because it would apply to all.
