Informal bids were received from Collins Equipment ($12,350); and
Petroleum Maintenance ($9,902). We have $20,000 budgeted for that. Petroleum Maintenance,
Inc. is the low bidder and they are certif'ied.
Chief Mohr reported that because of the locarion of our present tank in relation to the foundation, if
we disturb the tank it may cause the foundation of the building to shift. Because we must comply
with the new law and we need to get insurance, he thinks keeping the tank in the ground is the
best thing we can do.
Mrs. Martin said that one tank did not test tight. The company who tested it feels the riser is not
connected securely due to age. They have included the addition of a riser in this quotation which
they feel may take caze of the problem. There may be a minor contamination of the soil, and if so,
there will be an additional charge to remove it.
Mr. Rinker said it is his understanding they do not anticipate a major problem, and if they have to
remove any contaminated soil, it would cost $52 a yard.
Mr. Rinker asked if there was any further discussion.
