THIS IS.TO BE ATTACHED TO THE MINUTES Copies were sent by mail
O.F 6/15/92 AS A PERMANENT RECORD. to each member of Council
6/23/92 djh
?I;°LDMAYFIELD VILLAGE
6621 Wilson Mills Road Mayfield Village, Ohio 44143
ADMINISTRATION
(216) 461-2210

BLASE PIETRAFESE
Mayor
June 19, 1992
Members of Council
c/o Donna Heath, Clerk of Council
6621 Wilson Mills Road
Mayfield Village, Ohio 44143
Dear Members of Council:
Pursuant to my authority under Article IV, Section 6, of the
Charter of the Village of Mayfield, I am hereby vetoing Ordinance
No. 92-22 for the following objections.
My objections to this Ordinance narrow down to the fact that
the Council majority has acted without study, investigation o.r
careful consideration. This is not fair to your Mayor nor to your
constituents. Hopefully, you will allow this Ordinance to die
without even an attempt to override the veto as a sign of good
faith. I certainly have shown my good faith in working with you,
and would hope to receive the same in return. Al1 I ask is a fair
opportunity to do the job the voters elected me to do. Although
some of you vigorously opposed my election, I deserve an
opportunity to function within our existing laws. Even if you
persist, I will continue with my best efforts to be open with
Council, to take into consideration your goals and intentions, and
not play into this type of challenge which can only degrade and
again embarrass our fine Village.
The Clerk of Council, pursuant to the Charter, shall make this
veto a part of the journal of Council, and provide a copy to each
member for their consideration.
Sin rely, °
r
Blase Pietrafes `, Mayor
