Regular Council Meering
6/15/92
Page Three
Cirizen's Advisor,ti? Committee - Mr. Fixler said they are meeting later this month. One point he
wants to bring up is about someone who had a garage broken into last year and a police report was
not taken because they could not pin down the date it occurred. Another item of concern was about
a opossum on a gazage roof; the animal warden said they should cut the tree limbs down and that
should solve the problem. Also, several graduation-parties took place on Bramblewood. Cars
were parked on both sides of the street; about.50% of them were parked illegally. He does not
want them to be ticketed but thinks some attention should be paid to this problem (and maybe an
officer could go to the house and let them lrnow their car is parked illegally.)
Mr. Hovancsek arrived at this time (8:20 p.m.)
Department Head Reports - En 'glneer - Mr. Hovancsek said the concrete street reconstruction
project should be started next week. The cracksealing and asphalt work has been completed. The
preconstruction meeting with the street striper will be held at the end of this week. He will know
by the end of this week the date he will be starting work.
Cornmission on Aging - Mr. Busa said he had no report at this time.
Finance - Mr. Flynn reported the following:
1) Mr. Diemert will have something for Caucus regarding the establishment of a fund
for Recreation and Parks.
2) They request a Special Council Meeting be held on July 6 to discuss (and hopefully
adopt) the 1993 budget. .
3) They recommend the playground equipment cost be split 50-50 (between the
General Fund and the Recreation Fund.)
4) The Finance Department discussed the three new funds.
5) The Finance Committee members were of the understanding the fireworks
expenditure was to be $5,000 collectively, not $7,500 total.
6) They recommend approval of the purchase of two mowers for the Service
Department ($5,700.)
7) They recommend moving forward with the annual maintenance agreement for
Traffic Control Products ($2,894.00).
8) They recommend approval of the radio system for the Service Department
($4,987.00)
9) They recommend approval of the mobile radios for the Fire Department
($5,832.50).
10) They recommend approval of all the Village insurance policies that expire June 30.
(Mr. Flynn cited the specific amount and type of each policy.)
Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Ferrante said they met June 13. The speakers were the 19th
Congressional District candidates.. However, Eric Fingerhut was unable to attend. His campaign
manager was there; Eric Fingerhut will be at the next meeting. Republican candidate Bob Gardner
was a speaker. He presented his proposals (see the minutes of the Hillcrest Councils of Councils
meeting for details.) M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said there will be a track meet here the following Saturday. Three
programs are being offered this summer: tennis for women and youngsters, and a karate program.
