152 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />9/21/92 <br />Page Two <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT RINKER <br />Mr. Rinker said there are a few additional items to be added to the agenda; he will ask Council to <br />amend the agenda to include the appropriate items later during the meeting. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Mr. Hovancsek reported prices have been received for sealing the cracked sections of pavement. t <br />Mr. Diemert said Council may have learned by now that a lien was put on the setdement funds. He <br />has instructed the Finance Director to deposit the monies direcdy with the Clerk of Courts and he <br />will do so tomorrow unless Council has any objection. <br />Mr. Diemert also reported that Mayor Pietrafese has been having setdement discussions with Mr. <br />and Mrs. Basconi. They have been reviewing the language of the proposed ordinance and should <br />have the results of that in the future. <br />Mr. Rinker asked if anyone had any questions or comments about Mr. Diemert's letter to Steve <br />Toth. <br />There were no comments. <br />Chief Mohr said we have received our new ambulance and placed it in service. VVe are very <br />pleased with its perforniance so far; Gates Mills owes us payment for hal£ Mr. Toth said he reviewed self insurance pools versus regular insurance programs. Insurance <br />pools have become popular alternatives to programs because of the escalating crosts of insurance. <br />He recommends a sma11 pool such as that established by N.O.R.M.A. because there is more <br />control over a small pool. Mr. Toth cited current members of N.O.R.M.A. and suggested the next <br />time the Vlllage 1nSUranCe iS up for renewal (at least two months prior to the expiration da.te), to <br />request advance proposals for competitive rnarkets to include insurance pools also. <br />Mr. Toth said he recommends passage of Ordinance No. 92-36 and Resolurion No. 92-38., <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board = Mr. Amendola said the Board met and passed on two accessory <br />buildings and one room addition. <br />Board of A1212eals - Mr. Amendola said a Board of Appeals meeting has been called into session <br />tomorrow night at the Building Department. <br />Cemeterv - Mr. Basile said five trees must be removed. Also, some headstones must be replaced. <br />They are in the process of getring prices. Cirizen's Advisorv Committee - Mr. Fixler said they met August 24 and read excerpts from the <br />minutes. Some of the items discussed include: a request for a dog clean-up sign in the Worton <br />Pazk area (also suggested a letter be sent to the Mayor of Mayfield Heights); problems with <br />excessive speed in Hanover Woods with a request for a"slow children at play" sign.
