<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />9/21/92 <br />Page Three <br />Chief Stevens said he will check with the Traffic Bureau about this request, however, it has been <br />their experience in the past that such signs are not very effective. <br />Mr. Fixler said there have been several complaints about the skunk problem. If anyone has <br />problems, Mr. Amendola has a formula that is supposed to be foolproof. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Flynn said the Committee met this evening. They recommend moving <br />ahead on the following: <br />Ordinance No. 92-36 - <br />Traffic Control Products - $3,800 <br />Cracksealing - $13,500 <br />,Ordinance No. 92-38 <br />Mr. Hovancsek said that Council asked him to get a per gallon price to do the larger cracks on <br />various streets where we did the asphalt work. Three fums submitted prices. He recommends that <br />Protect-O-Seal be awarded the contract. They will be checking and inspecting the work and will <br />make sure there is an accurate recorii of gallons used. Mr. Hovancsek said he feels this is a good <br />preventa.tive program. . <br />Mr. Toth said relative to Ordinance No. 92-32, there are four different proposals totalling over <br />$23,000. <br />Discussion was held about the breakdown of the proposals. <br />Mr. Hovancsek explained there aze different materials for the small joints and lazger cracks, so the <br />two proposals that appear to be for the same work are not a reperition of work to be performed. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils <br />Mr. Ferrante said there was no report. <br />Historical SocietX - Mrs. Cinco read a report about the ice cream social. Over 200 people attended. <br />Three rooms in the Historical House have been completed through to the anrique door knobs. The <br />gift shop opened for the first time. About 7,000 volunteer hours have been spent this year. The <br />Quilt Raffle on October 9, 10, 11, will be the next fundraiser. The annual Turkey Raffle will be <br />held November 21. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said the Art Show will be held October 19-22 at Highland Heights. <br />Ordinance Review - Mr. Rinker said he would like the committee to meet in October; he will try to <br />set a meeting date at the Caucus. . <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Basile said the Commission discussed a special use permit. They talked <br />about the parking lot expansion for the Mayfield United Methodist Church. He said the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission recommends Council pass their curb variance request. They also want a <br />variance from the 90'.setback and recommend that Council do not pass that. <br />Recreation Boazd - Mr. Fixler said the Board met August 19. They hired someone to handle the <br />pool and lifeguards. The playground equipment is up.
