155 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />9/21/92 <br />Page Five <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Engineer's Updates: Finalized Report Supporting Legislation for Ward Changes - Mr. Rinker said we need to equalize <br />the four wards. <br />Mr. Basile asked if the configuration would be the same as what Mr. Hovancsek drew up. <br />Mr. Rinker said there were some changes to that. <br />Engineer/Law Director U dn ates: <br />Installation of 5 svstem loops on Wilson Mills Road - Approval of Expenditure by Motion - <br />Traffic Control Products -$3.800 -(we will be reimbursed by Cuyahoga County) <br />Mr. Hovancsek said Pathmaster looked at the system. They feel the additional loops are necessary <br />for the system to work more effectively. Mr. Hovancsek explained where the loops will be placed. <br />Mr. Rinker said he received a phone call from the Highland Heights Council President. They <br />wonder if anything can be done with the sequencing of the light at Miner Road. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said some work has been done; Pathmaster has changed the timing sequence. <br />They will continue to monitor the situation; they are fine-tuning the program. <br />Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to approve an expenditure not to exceed <br />$3,800 to Traffic Control Products for the installation of 5 system loops on Wilson Mills Road. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr: Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />Mr. Flynn, and Mr. Rinker <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Approved <br />Service Department UQdates: <br />Leaf Mulch Pad - Mr. Rinker said Mr. Amendola has requested additional space for a leaf mulch <br />pad. He asked Mr. Amendola to describe the project and explain the need for additional space. <br />Mr. Amendola said the space they have devoted to a leaf mulch pad at the present time is <br />approxunately one-third of the space they will eventually require. They would like to get the <br />surface put in. Because of the restricrions on solid waste, no more landf'illing of leaves will be <br />allowed starting in 1992. The Village is responsible for all leaves, branches, clippings, and parts <br />of trees. Mr. Amendola said we will no longer accept wood chips from C.E.I. or tree-cutting <br />people. By spring, he hopes the Village will have its own chipper, Mr. Amendola said it would <br />cost about $7,500 to haul away the leaves collected last yeaz. He received an estimate of $1,300 <br />from King Excavating to make the base. <br />Council agreed the Village should advertise for bids for this project.
