166
Special Council Meeting
10/5/92 Page Four . Mr. Rinker asked Mr. Pan zica what his timetable with Fish Furniture was. He asked 1VIr. Panzica
what he would think if there were some form of agreement limiting this to two years with an
understanding that a third yeaz is likely to follow. Mr. Rinker said he is speaking as one person
but is trying to generate discussion. Mr. Panzica asked if there was any chance he could get three years.
Mr. Rinker said he is suggesting a two and one arrangement but would like to sound out the rest of
Council on that.
Mr. Basile said he voted no at Planning and Zoning and would vote no again.
Mrs. Cinco said she would like to see included in there that the safety concerns are addressed.
Mr. Rinker said that is a point that would be added onto the condirions.
Mr. Panzica agreed.
Mrs. Cinco said she would like to hear Mr. Diemert speak out on the fact that the zoning--what
they are trying to change now would have nothing to do with that; he would have a"yes" vote
from her.
Mr. Ferrante said his vote would be no.
Mr. Busa said he is in favor of a temporary, possibly a two-year variance because it does conflict
with our proposed zoning change.
Mr. Rinker said the two-year would be commitment and look to the third yeaz as a realistic option
barring some major problem.
Mr. Busa said he likes that opposed to an empty building; that could be a disaster.
Mr. Fixler said he is not comfortable with two years.
NIr. Rinker said they have already been told that one is not going to make it.
Mr. Fixler will consider it further while they go around the horn.
Mr. Flynn asked Mr. Marquardt (Planning and Zoning Commission member in the audience) if he
felt he could give an answer on his own or possibly for some of the members of Planning and
Zoning about these things they have discussed and asked if Mr. Marquardt had an opinion.
Mr. Marquardt said he was in favor of not taking a vote in Planning and Zoning because
information was not presented to Planning and Zoning in a reasonable length of time for them to
consider and make a judgment on it. To come in and say you are under the gun and must make a
decision tonight, with no information...
