175 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />10/19/92 <br />Page Five <br />Mr. Phillips - Communitv Relarions Coordinator - Mr. Phillips said the third session will be held <br />?? <br />tomorrow night. Chief Mohr will present Breathing and Bleeding??. Dr. Davies will discuss <br />stress and tension on November 17; this will conclude the sessions for the year. Mr. Phillips said <br />he met with the Police and Fire Chiefs for the in-service training on the interpersonal community <br />relations seminar. They have two dates tentatively set in late November. There will be 2 four-hour <br />sessions. He will make himself available from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will be another session <br />from 6 to 10 p.m. so everyone should be able to attend with very little overtime required. <br />Water District Committee - Mr. Rinker said they did not meet this month. He understands things <br />are moving with the Upper Forty, Issue II requests and asked if Mr. Hovancsek had anything to <br />add. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he met with Mr. Kerver this afternoon. He requested they prepare a <br />resolution at the next meering to agree to participate in requesting the application for this project. <br />He will discuss it with the Board to give them permission to go along as a joint applicarion. He <br />said Council must pass a resolution for eaeh of the various projects by October 30 whereby we <br />make our formal application. <br />N.E.O.R.S.D. - Mayor Pietrafese asked Mr. Hovancsek to update everyone on the meering that <br />took place today. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he and Mayor Pietrafese met with three representatives of the Regional Sewer <br />District today. The N.E.O.R.S.D. has hired a contractor to put in all new controls at the Beech <br />Hill and Wilson Mills pump stations. They have awarded a contract for the installation of a <br />generator at the Beech Hill Pump Station. There have been five sewage overflows this year; three <br />were due to faulty controls, two were due to power failures when the diesel generator did not kick <br />on. There is a temporary generator outside the building so if there is a problem it will continue to <br />function. The next quarterly meeting will be on January 13 at 10 a.m, Mr. Hovancsek said they <br />are maintaining their preventative maintenance program and are spending money to keep the system <br />from deteriorating unril the new system is in place. <br />Police Departrnent: <br />Annroval of ExAenditure bv Morion - Abele Davis - 10 Shotguns -($2,530 <br />W. Basile, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a morion to approve the expenditure of $2,530 to <br />Abele Davis for the purchase of 10 shotguns for the Police Department. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Fenante, Mr. Fixler, Mr. Flynn, <br />and Mr. Rinker. <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />Fire Department: <br />Fire Station Clean-up - Status - This item was previously discussed. <br />
