~~ <br />2.d <br />Cable T.V. - Mr. Carmen stated that the Ordinance, of -which a <br />copy was given to Council, was put together combining the best <br />features from surrounding communities plus some new features. <br />He felt we would have the best cable benefits possible for the <br />Village with this Ordinance. The Law Department would have no <br />input in drafting this Ordinance, only to review it to check <br />its legality. <br />Mr. Bennett asked for this Ordinance riot to be made available <br />to the public by the news media until Council .has had a chance <br />to review it. <br />Mr. Carmen stated that after Council reviewed-the Ordinance, <br />sometime next month we should invite back the four to five <br />companies who have expressed an interest in this franchise. <br />Mayor Beebe questioned why we have to have them come back. <br />Mr. Carmen stated that he was not on Council at the time they <br />came before and it would be a good test of cooperation. as to <br />who shows up (as they will have a copy of the Ordinance before <br />they come). Mr. Carmen also stated that we are not going to <br />take what they have to offer but what we want. He feels that <br />they will change their proposal with our specifications. <br />Mr. Bennett stated he will have a Special Meeting or Caucus to <br />review this before the companies are invited in. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />1 <br />Mr. Bennett stated that since there are no Law Directors present, <br />the Utility Sub-Contractors Bond Requirements would be discussed <br />at the next meeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Ordinance 80-54, entitled: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO MAKE <br />APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE CURRENT A.ND OTHER EXPENSES OF.MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO"FOR THE YEAR 1980 AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 80-17." <br />Mr. Beatty stated he had been in conversation with R.I.T.A. and <br />it was decided this Ordinance was needed to receive the monies <br />that will be. collected from the 1/2/ tax .increase tha-t was. <br />effective July 1, 1980. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Miss Trask; made a motion to suspend the <br />rules of ~.aw requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate <br />occasions. . <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS:..
