- •-. e ~ . <br />--- ~_~S <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Carmen stated the Commission.met on <br />Monday, December 8, 1980 at 7:35 P.M. Two issues were discussed. <br />(1) Mr. Julius Paris stated his intention. to build on the south- <br />west corner of Beta and S.O.M., proposed rezoning. Mr. Carmen <br />stated this would be discussed further at the Workshop meeting <br />this Thursday. <br />(2) A motion was made for expansion of Heinen's north drive on <br />S.O.M. Center Road, and was unanimously defeated. <br />Mayor Beebe stated he had an addition to the Planning & Zoning <br />minutes. He stated that Mr. Paris offered to pay for a special <br />election to put this on the ballot (approximately $135.00) as <br />this must be voted on by the people per our Charter and the <br />United States Boare of Appeals Agreement. <br />Recreation/MARC - Mr. Spellman stated the Recreation Board did <br />an excellent job yesterday (with Santa's. Ride a°nd.Chr.istmas <br />Party). He expressed thanks to. the Fire and Service Departments. <br />He stated he was looking forward to a good year next year. Mr. <br />Spellman stated that M.A.R.C. is still discussing whether or not <br />to continue as a committee. <br />Safety and Service - Mr. Flynn stated there was no report. <br />Community Building - Mrs. Hanus stated the committee met on <br />November 19th. At that time the balance in the Community <br />Building fund was $628.41, but with the check. we just received° <br />from the Kiwanis, the balance is now $847.51. The cost to <br />convert the salt shed into a community center is approximately <br />$50,000.00. Mrs. Hanus stated the committee came up with some <br />good ideas, Dorothy=Buzek had suggested to have a White Elephant <br />Sale, which will be held on April 25 and 26 and will be called <br />the"Village:Garage:Sale". <br />Mayor Beebe stated there will,be an~.official announcement of this <br />in the "Voice of the Village:'. _.- <br /> Cable T.V. - Mr. Carmen stated this would .be discussed later. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Ordinance 80-69, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CABLE <br /> TELEVISION FRANCHISE TO VIACOM. ': Introduced by Fr.ed:.Carmen.- <br /> Discussion was held and Ordinan ce 80-69 was given first reading. <br /> Mr. Carmen stated that Viacom was unanimously chosen by Council <br /> and he is looking forward to 15 years of excellent service. <br /> <br />i <br />
