h I1 _, ?. • , r MINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING , Village.of Mayfield . , February 17,'1981 The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Special Session for a Public Hearing for Block Graht appropriations on Tuesday, February 17, 1981 at 8:00 P.M. in the Village Hall. Council President Alan G. Bennett presided. Present . Messrs.', Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Spellman, and Mrs.Hanus AbsehLt . Mayor Beebe, Mr. Carmen, and Miss Trask Also Present: Dale Feneli Council President,Alan G. Bennett welcomed the guests who were present. He then-asked Dale Feneli to explain the purpose of the hearing. Mr. Feneli stated this Public Hearing was called for the Community - Block Grant Program;?which is required by law to provide the residents an opportunity to express their ideas for a project they would like the allocation to be used fore ? - Mr. Feneli turned the meeting-overtt=o L-ouise Bryant, the Repre- sentative from the Department of Community Development. Ms. Bryant briefly explained the history of the Block Grant Program. She Also discussed the amount of f-unding-for 1980, and= gave examples of the eligible activities that are covered under the program., , _. _ _ . _ . , . . . . :_-: . . Ms.-Bryant stated=that Mayfield Vill?age, in their=first year, could expect to receive approximat6ly $11,000.00 to $15,000.00 to be applied_towards a project.-'She stated.the amount of the allocation has not .yet been decided, but Mayor Beebe will be notified. She also stated _ that th-e. -Feder-al- Government requir-es citizen partici- pation, and she-is a citizen"participatiori specialist.,.-" Ms. Bryant stated the CP Plan brochure explains more about the process of=receiving money and those who are interested'to pick up a brochure. .
